How to get there

From Capel Curig pick up the A4086 and then the A498 to Nantgwynant. Just after passing through the village turn left at the ’20mph / single track road’ signs, follow the lane uphill for approx 1 mile, and follow the sharp bend to the right for approx half a mile. You will pass a layby car park on the left, soon after this turn left into a gateway marked ‘Nantmor Mountain Centre, Gelli Iago, over a bridge. Through the gate and up the farm track and you’re there.

If approaching from Beddgelert and the SW, turn right into the lane on entering Nantgwynant, just after the Red Dragon bunkhouse camping pods.

Satnav will take you to within a mile away, but not quite to Gelli Iago.

When you’re here

Having settled in at the Centre, you can spend days without even using your car, with walking access to Cnicht, the Moelwynion and Snowdon range for the fittest and plenty of easier low level walks too.

Sherpa buses provide access to other parts of Snowdonia from the bus stop down the lane in Nantgwyant, so no worries about parking.
