Coronavirus Latest

As we all try and adjust to the ‘new normal’ of self-isolating and social distancing as the Coronavirus pandemic continues to unfold, I wanted to give you an update about the Nantmor Mountain Centre.

We know you are as disappointed as we are that in order to comply with Government guidelines, your planned trips have had to be cancelled and you are having to enjoy the peace of your own living room instead of the wonderful countryside of Snowdonia.

The Centre

Our Centre is closed at the moment, in line with regulations. The forthcoming May Members Meet will not be running, future Member’s Meets will be advised as the current situation dictates and when the lock down ceases. We are currently planning to hold our deferred AGM in June/July, all things being clear by then.

Rest assured that the working party that took place in March, deep-cleaned the Centre and left it in tip top condition for you to use when permitted. We can’t wait for the doors to open so that you can start enjoying the facilities again.

The Strength of NMCA

We currently have enough reserves to to ride out the current situation. The Directors will continue to meet online and make the sometimes difficult decisions we need to make and have already taken steps to reduce expenditure wherever we can.

We would like to thank all the members who have shown understanding and have given us support during this challenging time when we or they have been forced to cancel their bookings. We are still happy to receive your provisional bookings for later on in the year and these can be booked via the website here.

We hope you will continue to support us by re-booking at a later date and any deposits already paid for bookings you can’t use will be credited to you for when you book again, unless you request a refund.

Once the dust starts to settle, we predict there is likely to be high demand to get outside into the great outdoors; many people will want a change of scenery and the chance to stretch their legs properly, hopefully meaning that we can bounce back much faster – something that we are ready to do and are very much looking forward to.

Support from Members

During these unprecedented times, support from our Members is more important than ever and we warmly thank you. Going Forwards, we are monitoring the situation closely but as they say – “the best views come after the hardest climbs!”.

We hope we can rely on your continued support until we re-open and start getting everyone back on our feet. In the meantime, one way of supporting us via your online shopping. Please consider signing up for Give as You Live. It doesn’t cost you a penny more, but will benefit the Association by giving us a small percentage of each purchase. Alternatively, you can make a donation to us by clicking here. If you can gift aid it, that’s even better!

I would like to wish you all well. Please continue to follow the government guidelines, stay safe and come back to us as soon as you can.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

AGM – 25th March 2020 – CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

The Directors of the Nantmor Mountain Centre Association have taken the decision to postpone the AGM until Summer in light of Government guidelines restricting unnecessary gatherings and in particular regarding those who may fall into the high risk category.

Members can still vote for Directors, the President and Vice Presidents as the ballot is by online vote only. It takes just a matter of a minute to vote, so make your voice heard!

The Centre will remain open with bookings going ahead until we are advised that it should be closed. We are undertaking deep cleaning of the premises between groups. If your group is booked to stay at the Centre but are unable to fulfill your booking due to Coronavirus, please get in touch with us as soon as possible, either by emailing bookings@nantmormountaincentre.co.uk or click here to use the contact form on the website.

Support our local store

Emrys House is our local convenience store in the centre of Beddgelert. It’s a friendly, family run shop that stocks all the essential items you’ll need while staying at the Centre.

Delyth and her team offer a service to our users so that advanced orders can be placed. This means that if you are taking a group to the Centre, you don’t have to struggle for space to bring all your food and drinks with you. Emrys House can sort your order and deliver it to the Centre for you on arrival.

Ongoing food orders for daily staples such as bread and milk can also be ordered for collection throughout your stay. All produce is deliciously fresh and locally sourced where possible. You can even make free cash withdrawals.

If you would like to take advantage of this offer and support our local store, please contact Emrys House directly on 01766 890240 or email emryshouse.beddgelert@gmail.com, letting them know your arrival date at the Centre.
